If you have been affected by any disaster in the UK – whether you or your children are survivors, or even someone involved in the emergency services response team - and could benefit from our service.
Thank you for showing interest in getting involved! We need help from so many directions and we are so grateful to all involved so far. Therapist Volunteers, Admin Volunteers, Donate Supplies ...
The main woman at CST-UK is an amazing lady called Jane Lawson - she'd filled with incredible energy and is driving this project like a crazy lady. She is happy to speak to anyone who can help.
We have so much gratitude for the many people who have been helping us with donations and publicity - including Health Hosts, who provided this website for us!
First and foremost, our group is a welcoming place called Complementary Support Teams UK, and our aim is 'Lifting Hearts Together.'
We are a nationwide charity project that has been set up to respond to UK-wide disasters with complementary therapies to support communities through trauma.
Complementary therapies are really fundamental in times of trauma and shock because your body changes, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Our services can help to bring you back, supporting you through difficult times, and they focus on you as a whole person. Many people know about counselling for shock, for example, but it may be that you aren’t yet ready to talk and a non-invasive grounding therapy can help release your trauma until you are.
We are a UK-wide longer-term project ready to respond nationwide to any disasters with complementary therapy support. This is with therapies suitable for trauma, both physical body work, and also for mental/emotional wellbeing; so things like Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Children’s Reflexology, Reiki, Homeopathy, Bach Flower Remedies, Kinesiology, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Acupuncture, Meditation, Yoga, Children’s Yoga, Nutrition, Massage, Indian Head Massage, Various Counselling and Talking therapies, and many more. We also offer specialist children-specific therapies.
The group was originally set up to offer free complementary therapies to both survivors of Grenfell Tower fire – both adults and children - as well as any emergency services heroes who helped fighting the fire. It is run entirely by a group of volunteers who are also involved in our extensive Continuous Professional Development programme.
Whether you are in need of our support, or a willing volunteer, you can find the information you need here, so please have a look around and read more.
